Zaeylyn Ann Carper is a member of the 2025 senior class. She is the daughter of Jessica Schieferdecker of Edina and Daniel Carper of LaBelle.
Zaeylyn’s favorite memory from high school will be when she graduates because it will be the beginning of her journey to become a nurse and work in a hospital. Throughout high school, Zaeylyn’s favorite teacher was Mrs. Taylar Parrish, High School Counselor, because she helped her enjoy her high school days and guided her when she felt lost. Zaeylyn’s favorite classes were Health, Child Development, and Foods. She shared that Health and Child Development helped her learn more about the human body, and Foods allowed her to make food and eat it, which she enjoys.
“Caring, hilarious, and smart” are three words Zaeylyn uses to describe herself. The most influential person in Zaeylyn’s life is her grandmother because she is the most outgoing, selfless, independent and kindhearted woman she knows. “My grandma also started from the bottom and made her way to the top and never once looked down on someone and always treated everyone equally,” she said.
Zaeylyn’s future plans are to attend Blessing Remien College of Nursing and Health Sciences to get a degree in registered nursing. After that, she plans to work at Blessing as a Postpartum Nurse. One thing on her bucket list is to meet the cast of Grey’s Anatomy. In 10 years, Zaeylyn sees herself living on a farm with a husband and kids.
